The earlier you start taking care of your heart the better! Here are some ways to make sure that you can keep your heart healthy:

  • Stress not only takes a toll on your heart but also your whole body. It leads to emotional and physical tension and can lead to high blood pressure. Taking care of your stress levels is important for your physical and mental health.
  • Avoid tobacco and alcohol intake. Quitting smoking can give your heart long term benefits- it increases your lifespan by 10 years. After quitting, the risk of heart diseases is reduced by half as compared to a smoker.
  • Eat your greens! Dark green vegetables are full of vitamin B called folate. They are rich in vitamins, minerals and nutrients. It plays a huge role in preventing heart diseases along with lifestyle modifications.
  • Exercise has a plethora of health benefits. It is linked to improving blood pressure, lipid levels and cholesterol. Exercising for at least 30 minutes every day 4-5 days a week is recommended.
